Jericho Share outlines core religious and ethical beliefs

Participation in the Jericho Share Health Care Sharing Ministry is open to everyone who agrees to abide by the non-profit’s outlined religious and ethical beliefs. The 501(c)(3) presents these shared beliefs and asks each member to agree before registration to create a harmonious, positive experience for all members.

Personal Worship

Each member has a fundamental and religious right to worship God in their own way.

Jericho Share realizes individuals exercise their faith in different ways and also have different styles of expressing their beliefs. Members are not coerced into following a specific model of worship and are able to express beliefs how they choose. There are no stipulations dictating how often or when a member should attend religious services, pray, or observe religious holidays.

Burden sharing

People have a religious and ethical obligation to share the burden of others requiring assistance. Sharing the burden is based on the current resources and opportunities of the individual.

Helping others in need should be done freely and according to individual means. Members who require financial help with medical bills receive assistance through member-to-member expense sharing.

The Jericho Share philosophy sees a moral and ethical obligation to help whenever possible and not refuse to help based on a personal desire for any member to distance themselves from the problems others face.

Welcoming all

Each member should believe in sharing in a caring community of individuals dedicated to welcoming others regardless of race, age, gender, sexual persuasion, or political affiliation.

Promoting inclusivity is a core belief. This means each person is respected for who they are and not treated differently based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. It is important to welcome all with an open mind and open arms.

Caring for family

Members must care for their family and believe that emotional, mental, and physical abuse are wrong. No one inside or outside of the family should be abused.

The belief in family life as a guide for how others should be treated extends to abuse. Setting a good example for children and family members that abuse is morally wrong is central to cultivating caring, nurturing relationships. This extends to all forms of abuse, including physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect.
